Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains are home to some of the best attractions in America and our hotel is just down the road from the very best spots in town! Check out these 4 attractions that you don’t want to miss during your stay with us at The Appy Lodge.

Ripley’s Davy Crockett Mini-Golf

Do you love playing a round of mini-golf with the family or your sweetheart? Ripley’s Davy Crockett Mini-Golf is just steps away from the front door of our Gatlinburg hotel. It’s one of the top-rated putt putt spots in town and they offer 2 full 18 hole courses for you to choose from. You’ll find plenty of shade on a hot day and if you score a hole in one on the last putt, you’ll receive a free game. The forest characters add charm and fun to both courses and playing a couple rounds is a great way to spend quality time together during your next vacation to the Smokies.

Rowdy Bear Mountain Coaster

If you’re up for experiencing the beauty of the Smokies mixed with the thrills of a rollercoaster, then you’ll have a blast riding the alpine mountain coaster at the Rowdy Bear Mountain Adventure Park. Located just down the road from our hotel, Rowdy Bear Mountain is a favorite among both guests and locals. Their mountain coaster tops out at 35 mph and they also have the world’s first mountain glider that blends the feeling of hang gliding with free falling. To add a little extra fun to your trip try visiting at night!

Anakeesta

Sitting above our charming mountain town is Anakeesta, a 70-acre playground, that countless guests have fallen in love with since 2017. The mountaintop park is only accessible by catching a ride on a chairlift, a gondola or the Ridge Rambler from downtown Gatlinburg. Once at the top you’ll find a skywalk among the treetops, a mountain coaster, ziplines, dueling ziplines, shops, dining spots and the newly added AnaVista Tower. There’s a little bit of something for everyone atop Anakeesta and they’re constantly offering up themed experiences for holidays and more. The park is also handicap accessible.

Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies

Did you know that we have sharks here in the Smokies? They’re certainly not native, but they’re definitely here! Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies sits in the heart of downtown Gatlinburg and is one of the most remarkable aquariums in the country. Guests have the opportunity to ride on a glass bottom boat, wander beneath shark-filled water, view 10,000 creatures of the sea, and take a step into the ocean while enjoying their time in the Great Smoky Mountains. The mountains meet the sea here in Tennessee and it’s an incredible combination!
