The Ober Gatlinburg Aerial Tramway is one of the most exciting attractions in the Smoky Mountains and also one of the most popular! In fact, the two counter-balanced cable cars carry over 3,000 guests to Ober Gatlinburg on a daily basis! You will soar more than 11,000 feet above Gatlinburg as you travel on your breathtaking journey to the amusement park and ski area. Once at the top of the mountain, you can continue the fun with a variety of exciting activities including skiing, snow tubing, ice skating and the thrilling ski mountain coaster!

2. Operating Dates and Times

The Aerial Tramway to Ober Gatlinburg is open daily from 9:45 a.m. to 9 p.m., with the last ticket sold 30 minutes prior to closing time. Note that these hours are subject to change based on inclement weather or other issues. Due to the high demand and number of guests on weekends and holidays, you might encounter a wait time of 2 or more hours to board the Aerial Tramway. Therefore, we recommend arriving as early as possible to avoid any delays!

3. Ticket Information

You can purchase advance tickets to the Ober Gatlinburg Aerial Tramway or buy them at the lower terminal of the tramway at Parkway and LeConte Street in downtown Gatlinburg. All tickets include a round trip ride on the Aerial Tramway and there is a discount for children ages 5 to 11. Kids that are 4 and under can ride for free! You may also purchase Aerial Tramway tickets at the top of the mountain and start your round trip from there if you have already driven up on Ski Mountain Road. Keep in mind that there is limited parking on the mountain and inclement weather in the winter may restrict the road to vehicles with 4 wheel drive or chains.
