We know that when planning a vacation to Gatlinburg, visitors have plenty of options when it comes to accommodations. However, we wanted to share with you 5 reasons to choose our hotel on your next trip to the Smokies. We hope that you’ll see why staying with us will leave you rested, inspired and happy!
An Authentic and Local Experience
Our Gatlinburg hotel is locally owned and is filled with the smiling faces of local residents that have a passion for helping guests enjoy the town that they call home. The hallways of our hotel are filled with art from local artists and photographs from the Appalachian Trail, most of which were taken by one of our staff members during her adventures on the trails. You’ll find custom furniture that is rustic yet high quality and comfortable. Fire pits and fireplaces to enjoy with your family and friends. We serve a complimentary breakfast every morning and fresh baked cookies in the afternoon. Our “Little Grandma” won the 2019 Lodging Employee of the Year for Gatlinburg by the Sevier County Hospitality Association. Little Grandma is greatly loved by our guests thanks to her southern hospitality and undeniable sweetness of a grandma. Little Grandma and the rest of our staff are the foundation for the authentic and local experience that we offer our guests!
Clean and Cozy Guest Rooms
At The Appy we pride ourselves on the cleanliness and comfort of our property. All guest rooms have hardwood floors, 100% laundered beds, custom hickory furniture and high-quality and luxurious beds. Our walk-in showers are a favorite among guests and if you forget your hair dryer, there’s nothing to worry about because you’ll find one in every guest room. The in-room microwave, mini-fridge and coffeemaker are also amenities that will help you to save on money and enjoy the comfort of your room. If you’re looking for the full home away from home experience while staying with us, check out Our King Suite!
Our Location
Our hotel isn’t located in the heart of downtown Gatlinburg, but instead it is very conveniently placed between both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. If you’re wanting to stay in the heart of downtown, The Bearskin Lodge and Old Creek Lodge are our sister hotels and they are perfect for you. However, if you’re looking for something in a quieter location with plenty of parking and in a place that makes it easy to access many of the best spots in the Smokies, you’ll love staying with us at The Appy Lodge! The hotel is located on the Gatlinburg end of the Spur and allows you to be in Downtown Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Greenbrier, Pittman Center and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park within less than 10 minutes. We also have a trolley stop located on our property and guests receive a free downtown Gatlinburg parking pass upon request for the duration of their stay. An Appy Tip: If you’re wanting to go into the park, instead of taking a left and going through downtown Gatlinburg, you can take a right out of the front of our parking area and access the Gatlinburg Bypass within just a couple minutes by taking the first left on the Spur.
Behind the Scenes
At The Appy, we are more than just another hotel in Gatlinburg. Our hotel was created to pay homage to the Appalachian Trail and to inspire our guests. The hope that we have for you staying with us is that when you leave, you’ll leave with a love for the great outdoors and a desire to make time for the mountains. During the creation of our hotel, we became partners with the Appalachian Trail Conservancy, the non-profit organization that has been in charge of caring for America’s most loved footpath from the very beginning. We didn’t want to just create a property about the Appalachian Trail to benefit from guests staying with us. We wanted to make a difference and so we created a place where people can learn, relax and also give back. The Appy Lodge continues and will continue to partner with the ATC to provide support for the Appalachian Trail in our beautiful Smoky Mountains. During your stay, check out our Gift Shop for perfect items to take home with you. Your purchase will also help support the ATC and their efforts to care for the Appalachian Trail.
